Star Bangled Spanner
Although only half measures of each spirit are used, there are seven layers of them, so this is quite a potent cocktail. It is probably fortunate that after getting your tongue around a couple, your hand will become too unsteady to pour more

'/2 measure chilled green Chartreuse
1/2 measure chilled triple sec
'/2 measure chilled cherry brandy
'A measure chilled creme violette
1/2 measure chilled yellow Chartreuse
'/2 measure chilled blue Curasao
'/2 measure chilled brandy

Pour the green Chartreuse into a chilled champagne flute, then, with a steady hand, gently pour in the triple to make a second layer. Gently add the cherry brandy to make a third layer, the creme violette to ma fourth, the yellow Chartreuse to make fifth and the Curacao to make a sixth Finally, float the brandy on top.

Stars and Stripes:

pour 1 measure of chilled cherry brandy into a chilled shot glass, pousse cafe glass or champagne flute. With a steady hand, gently pour in 1 1/2 measures chilled single cream to make a second layer and, finally, gently pour in 2 measure chilled blue Curasao.

Union Jack:

pour 1 measure chilled Maraschino into a chilled shot glass. With a steady hand, gently pour in 1 measure chilled blue Curasao to make a second layer and, finally, gently pour in 1 measure chilled grenadine.

Tricolor:

pour 1 measure chilled gree creme de menthe into a chilled she: glass. With a steady hand, gently pour 1 measure chilled Bailey's Irish Cream make a second layer and, for the final layer, gently pour in 1 measure cherry red Maraschino.
