Irish Shillelagh
Irish Shillelagh
A shillelagh (pronounced shee-lay-lee) is a wooden cudgel, traditionally mac from blackthorn. Undoubtedly, this is a cocktail that hits the spot.
serves 1
4-6 crushed ice cubes
2 measures Irish whiskey
1 measure lemon juice
'•/?. measure sloe gin
]/? measure white rum
z tsp sugar syrup
'/2 peach, peeled, stoned and
finely chopped 2 raspberries, to decorate
Put the crushed ice cubes into a blender and add the whiskey, lemon sloe gin, rum, sugar syrup and chopp' peach. Blend until smooth. Pour into a small, chilled highball class and decorate with raspberries.
Whats the craic
Shillelagh:
put 4-6 cracked ice cubes into a cocktail shaker. Pour 2 measures Irish whiskey, 1 measure dry sherry, 1 teaspoon golden rum and 1 teaspoon lemon juice over the ice and add a pinch of caster sugar. Shake vigorously until a frost forms. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and decorate with a cocktail cherry.
Irish Eyes: put 4-6 cracked ice cubes into a mixing glass. Pour 2 measures Irish whiskey and 'A measure green Chartreuse over the ice. Stir well. Strain into a chilled glass.
Blackthorn Bush:
put 4-6 cracked ice cubes into a mixing glass. Dash Perrcc and Angostura bitters over the ice pour in 1 measure Irish whiskey and 1 measure dry vermouth. Stir well to mix then strain into a chilled cocktail glass
Colleen:
put 4-6 cracked ice cubes in a cocktail shaker. Pour 2 measures Irish whiskey, 1 measure Irish Mist, 1 meassure triple sec and 1 teaspoon lemon juice over the ice. Shake vigorously until frost forms, then strain into a chillea cocktail glass.
