Highland Fling
Blended whisky is best suited to cocktails - single malts should always be dn neat or simply with a little added mineral water. However, a throat-burning, harsh blend will make a mixture closer to rocket fuel than a cocktail and no amount of additional flavours will improve it.

4-6 cracked ice cubes dash of Angostura bitters 2 measures Scotch whisky 1 measure sweet vermouth cocktail olive, to decorate
Put the cracked ice into a mixing g Dash Angostura bitters over the ice. P; the whisky and vermouth over the ice. Stir well to mix and strain into a chilled glass. Decorate with a cocktail
Variations
Affinity:
put 4-6 cracked ice cubes into a mixing glass. Dash Angostura bitters over the ice and pour in 1 measure Scotch whisky, 1 measure dry vermouth and 1 measure sweet vermouth. Stir well to mix, then pour into a chilled cocktail glass.
Thistle:
put 4-6 cracked ice cubes into a mixing glass. Dash Angostura bitters over the ice and pour in 2 measures Scotch whisky and 1'/2 measures sweet vermouth. Stir well to mix and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Beadlestone:
put 4-6 cracked ice cube: into a mixing glass. Pour 2 measures Scotch whisky and 1 '/2 measures dry vermouth over the ice. Stir well to mix. then strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Flying Scotsman:
put 4-6 crushed ice cubes into a blender, dash Angostura bitters over the ice and add 2 measures Scotch whisky, 1 measure sweet vermouth and A teaspoon sugar syrup. Blend until slushy and strain into a small, chilled tumbler.
