Amaretto is an Italian liqueur, so perhaps the inspiration for this cocktail comes from Don Corleone, the eponymous character in Mario Puzo's best-selling nove unforgettably portrayed in the film by Marion Brando.
serves 1
4-6 cracked ice cubes
2 measures Scotch whisky
1 measure amaretto
Fill a chilled highball glass with cracked ice cubes.
Pour in the whisk, and amaretto and stir to mix.
Meet The family
Godmother:
put 4-6 cracked ice cubes into a small, chilled tumbler. Pour 2 measures vodka and 1 measure amaretto over the ice. Stir to mix.
Godchild:
put 4-6 crushed ice cubes into a blender and add 1'/2 measures amaretto, 1 measure vodka and 1 measure single cream. Blend until smooth, then pour into a chilled champagne flute.
Goddaughter:
put 4-6 crushed ice cubes into a blender and add 2 measures apple
brandy, 1 measure amaretto and 1 tablespoon apple sauce. Blend until smooth, then pour the mixture, with:. straining, into a chilled goblet. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon and serve with a straw.
Godson:
put 4-6 cracked ice cubes in a chilled tumbler. Pour in 2 measures amaretto and top up with orange juice Stir well to mix and decorate with a s of orange.
Did you know?
Although flavoured with almonds or herbal extracts, amaretto is actua made from apricot kernels.
