Glasses
Highball Glass
Although it's called a highball glass, highballs are also used to make any drink, like, Vodka and coke, whiskey and lemonade or gin and tonic and many other varieties of cocktails. Highball glasses are clear, presentable, and will probably be the 1 style of glass you will use the most.
Rocks Glass
The rocks glass can sometimes also be known as the lowball glass because it is used many times to sevre drinks that require ice. The rocks glass is excellent for serving any stirred cocktail and is clear to display the colour of your chilled creation. Its also quite become popular to serve a lot of highball drinks in rocks glasses.
Cocktail Glass Since cocktails generally aren't served with ice, the shape of the glass is is well designed because back in the day classic cocktails didnt have ice. By holding the cocktail by the stem of the glass you arent warming the drink
Shot Glass
These tiny glasses were once used to measure the amount of alcohol to pour into a drink (be it 25 or 35 ml or even 50ml), it wasn't until the 1970's that people started creating intragent drinks in these tiny glasses.
Collins Glass
This glass is perfect for a Tom Collins cocktail, the Collins glass is also used for various other cocktails quite often fruity ones like sex on the beach. The Collins glass is often frosted to allow for a much more pleasureable drinking experience
Old-fashioned glass
Old-fashioned glasses are similar to Rocks glasses, except for a bump at the base of the glass.
Martini glass
Slightly different from the Cocktail Glass, the Martini Glass has a slightly less tapered bowl. Some martini drinkers prefer the martini glass, stating that it better displays and cradles the olives.
Margarita glasses
Margarita glasses have a unique double bowl. The wide upper rim is well designed to have generous, amounts of salt, while the smaller inner bowl amplifys the impact of a dash of liqueur added for color grenadine for example
Sherry glasses
Can be used for dessert cocktails, Sherry glasses are of course best for serving the likes of ports, sherrys or other apperitifs. The best known sherry glass is called the copita which features a narrow taper that will heighten the aroma, or you might prefer a smaller pony or cordial glasses.
Brandy Snifter
The bulb shape of this glass is designed for you to hold and allows your hand to warm the cognac, while the shape of the glass channels the aroma up while drinking. The size of the glass does add to the strength of the aroma.
