Grasshopper
This silky smooth, pale-green cocktail is enough to make anyone jump with delight. However, experts disagree on the original recipe and there seem to be at least three versions with the same name - as well as numerous variations. The recipe given here is also known as a Grasshopper Surprise.

4-6 cracked ice cubes
2 measures green creme de menthe
2 measures white creme de cacao
2 measures single cream

Put the cracked ice cubes into a cocktail shaker. Pour the creme de menthe, creme de cacao and single cream over the ice. Shake vigorously until a frost forms. Strain into a chilled goblet.

Alternatives

Grasshopper (second version):

substitute white creme de menthe for the creme de cacao. Grasshopper (third version, also known as a Flying Grasshopper):

put 4-6 cracked ice cubes into a cocktail shaker. Pour 2 measures vodka, 1 measure green creme de menthe and 1 measure white creme de menthe over the ice. Shake vigorously until a frost forms. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Variations

Coffee Grasshopper: put 4-6 cracked ice cubes into a cocktail shaker. Pour 1 measure white creme de menthe, 1+1/2 measures coffee liqueur and 1 measure single cream over the ice. Shake until a frost forms. Half fill a small, chilled tumbler with ice and strain the cocktail over it. Vodka Grasshopper:

put 4-6 cracked ice cubes into a cocktail shaker. Pour 2 measures vodka, 2 measures green creme de menthe and 2 measures white creme de cacao over the ice. Shake vigorously until a frost forms, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
