Classic Cocktails
Caipirinha
50ml Cachaca
1 Lime
2 Brown sugar cubes
Cut the lime into eighths and place into a cocktail glass with the sugar cubes and muddle
Fill the glass with crushed ice and top with Cachaca
Stir and serve with a straw
Cuba Libre
50ml White Rum
1 Lime
Cola
Into a highball filled with ice pour the rum
Then cut the lime into wedges and squeeze juice and drop into glass
Top with cola
Daiquiri (original)
50ml Golden Rum
12.5ml Fresh lime juice
12.5ml Sugar syrup
Shake with ice and strain into a frosted Martini glass
Bloody Mary.
50ml Vodka
180ml Tomato Juice
Freshly squeezed juice of 1/2 lemon
Pinch of salt and pepper
Dash Tabasco Sauce, 1 tea spoon of horse Radish
dash Worcestershire Sauce,pinch of celery salt
Shake all the ingridients together with a scoop of ice. Serve in a highball glass
Garnish in with a lemon slice and a stick of celery
Black Russian
50ml Vodka
25ml Kahlua
Pour over ice into a Rocks glass
Garnish with a Maraschino Cherry
Harvey Wallbanger
50ml Vodka
12.5ml Galliano
Fresh Orange juice
Into a highball filled with ice pour the vodka and orange juice
Then float the Galliano on the top
Garnish with an orange slice
Gin Fizz
50ml Gin
25ml Lemon Juice
12.5ml Sugar Syrup
Soda Water
Shake the Gin, Lemon Juice and sugar syrup with ice
Strain into a Collins glass filled with ice and top with soda water
Kir
10ml Creme de Cassis
Chilled Dry White Wine
Pour the creme de cassis into a wineglass and pour the chilled white wine over it
For a Kir Royale substitute champagne for the white wine, serve in a champagne flute
Long Island Ice Tea
12.5ml Vodka
12.5ml Gin
12.5ml White Rum
12.5ml Tequila
12.5ml Triple Sec 25ml Fresh lemon Juice
Dash of Gomme, Cola
Build ingredients over ice into a Collins glass, top with cola
Garnish with a lemon wedge
Manhattan (sweet)
50ml Rye Whiskey
25ml Sweet Vermouth
1 dash Angostura Bitters
Maraschino Cherry
Stir together with ice, strain into a martini glass
Garnish with the cherry
Margarita
50ml Tequila
25ml Cointreau (Triple sec)
25ml Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
Shake together with ice
Serve in a salt-rimmed martini glass
Pimm's No 1
50ml Pimm's No.1
25ml Gin
Lemonade
Mixed Fruit (lemon, lime, cucumber, strawberry) to taste and a Sprig of Mint
Pour Pimm's and gin over ice into a highball glass, add the fruit and mint , top up with lemonade
Singapore Sling
50ml Gin
25ml Cherry Brandy
5ml Sugar syrup
15ml Fresh Lime Juice
Dash of Angostura bitters
Soda Water
Shake ingredients with ice and pour into a Collins glass filled with ice
Top with Soda water
Tom Collins
50ml Gin
25ml fresh lemon juice
12.5ml Gomme Syrup
Soda Water
Fill a highball glass with ice, add the above ingredients in order
Top with soda, stir and serve
Mai Tai
50ml Myers's Rum
12.5ml Orange Curacao
12.5ml Apricot Brandy
12.5ml Fresh lime juice, 12.5ml Pineapple juice
A dash of Angostura Bitters, 2 dashes of Orgeat syrup
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into an ice filled old-fashioned glass
Garnish with a sprig of mint
Cosmopolitan
2 parts (lemon infused) vodka
1 part Cointreau
2-3 parts cranberry juice
(squeezed lemon or lime)
Stir or shake with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass.
Garnish with a slice of lemon.
Alexander
4 cl (1 shot) gin
2 cl (1/2 shot) white CrËme de Cacao
4-6 cl light cream
Shake with ice in a cocktail shaker.
Strain into a cocktail glass.
Decorate with a cherry
Mojito
60 ml white rhum
1-2 tbsp syrup
1/2 lime
a handful of fresh mint sprigs
club soda
Muddle the mint leaves with limejuice and syrup in a rocks glass.
Add white rum and crushed ice.
Add a splash of club soda on the top
Shirley Temple
1 dash grenadine
Ginger Ale
Build in a highball glass packed with ice cubes.
Decorate with an orange slice and serve with a straw.
Rob Roy
2 pt blended whisky (Scotch)
1 pt sweet vermouth
2 dashes Angostura Bitter
Stir and serve in a cocktail or rocks glass.
Decorate with a maraschino cherry or a lime wedge.
Screwdriver
2 oz (60 ml) vodka
orange juice
Shake orange juice and vodka in a cocktail shaker.
Strain into a highball glass with a couple of ice cubes.
Decorate with a slice of orange
Pina Colada
1 shot white rum
1/2 shot Malibu
1 shot milk
pineapple juice
Shake rum, Malibu and milk with ice in a cocktail shaker.
Strain into a tall glass with ice.
Fill up with pineapple juice.
